Over three decades, László Kérchy has contributed twenty one definitive
research papers to
Acta Scientiarum Mathematicarum,
enriching the Sz.-Nagy--Foias theory of Hilbert space contractions with beautiful,
fundamental theorems.
In particular, he has achieved significant progress in the study of asymptotically
non-vanishing contractions.
The Medal was presented to László Kérchy
at 14:00, December 12, 2012
in the Bolyai Institute.
On this occasion he delivered a lecture
``On the Sz.-Nagy--Foias functional calculus".
