Hari Bercovici has contributed fourteen definitive research papers to the
Acta Scientiarum Mathematicarum,
enriching the Sz.-Nagy--Foias theory of contractions with beautiful,
fundamental theorems.
The Medal was presented to Hari Bercovici at 15:00, June 25, 2008
in the Bolyai Institute.
On this occasion he delivered a lecture ``On the eigenvalues of a sum of compact operators".
